Best Winter Ever
Best Winter Ever

Dear Friend,

Thank you again for facilitating lots of joyful, therapeutic, educational activities for the children who live in war.

Another winter is on the way and we have a brilliant plan of making it the “Best-Winter-Ever” for 1100 underprivileged children in 9 different locations in Afghanistan. Will you join us and help again by donating and sharing: http://globalgiving.org/projects/Best-Winter-Ever

We are doing our best in both producing many educational entertaining activities and capacity building our Afghan colleagues together with our young artists to sustain the activities.

There are a lot of good things happening in Afghanistan and we are all so optimistic and making sustainable progress regardless of all the usual problems of war. We have been making many  compromises since 2002 mainly because of the security to modify and even cancel some of the activities but still keep making progress and growing stronger.

Watch out for our new Newsletter which will be published in two weeks times with lots of good news.

Thank You

Dear Friend,

Thanks for being with us and keep supporting us in these difficult times and bringing fun and joy to thousands of children.

Beside all the regular activities including performances and workshops in schools of different provinces, we have just had our regular festivals and championships. Hundreds of girls and boys in different ages and different technical levels participated in these unique annual events.

The security in Afghanistan is always a problem and we are doing our absolute best to keep our children in Kabul and provinces safe and secure. This practically means lots of modification and adjustments of the activities and sometimes postponing and even canceling some of the workshops and performances. Some days ago, one of the explosions was very close to our Kabul center (see the photo). Our hearts go out to all the victims and their families and hope soon peace comes to Afghanistan. Our work becomes more difficult when there are such tragedies and at the same time our work becomes more essential as more children need to be happy and overcome their traumas and experience a happy childhood even if for some limited hours.

Annual report of our Afghan sister organization is attached to this email.

Thank you for your continuous support

Dear Friend,

Thank you for your support for bringing so much of fun and joy to so many girls and boys in Afghanistan.

We have expanded our campaign to more regions (such as Nangarhar) and more children (1500 instead of 900) and included more activities for the summer. We hope you keep supporting us with your donations as well as spreading the word to your network.

We would like to share this very short (28 minutes) new documentary with you to get a deeper insight about what keeps us working in Afghanistan and what you are supporting. Please watch it until the last seconds to get the entire context of the work: www.rtd.rt.com/films/Cirque-de-Kabul

Dear Friend,

Thank you for making this winter program a great success. Now by adding Bamyan province to the winter program, it is running in five provinces simultaneously.

The program is both flexible and dynamic and it is not limited to any fixed subjects, beneficiaries or places. Its activities beside the regular subjects, physical and visual arts and social games, it also includes performances, snow arts, talent competition and even gastronomy workshops and making Afghan delicious finger food. We have even included parents in the refugee camps and in our centers to join as audience to some of the performances and activities. The program has been also implementing some of its activities including performances in different locations such as refugee camps (IDP or Internally Displaced Person’s camps) and other venues in the five provinces. Some of these activities and performances have been covered by local media and brought to the attention of much larger audience.

We have just uploaded 54 new photos of the different winter program activities in the five provinces that you can watch and enjoy in our fundraising page (view the link below).

We are still %14 short in the funding and hope in the coming week we will raise the remaining fund to fully implement our big winter program project.

  1. Updated winter program photo album (54 new photos): www.globalgiving.org/projects/cheerful-afghan-winter/photos
  2. Afghan finger food by and for children in Herat winter program: https://youtu.be/t-d56JZQ9t8
  3. Campaign link to share in social media:  www.globalgiving.org/projects/Cheerful-Afghan-Winter
