Over the past few months, the COVID-19 pandemic has devastated the African American community. The Wright is continuing its work honoring local and national figures and recognizing their meaningful contributions to our community. Your gift supports the general operations of The Wright, helping us retain essential staff, maintain facilities, and continue our work of opening minds and changing lives through the exploration and celebration of African American history and culture.
COVID-19 directives have required the museum to close its doors, cancel major events, and significantly reduce staff, diminishing its community impact.
With the state currently at level four, demonstrating "improving" trends, The Wright is reinstating staff and implementing a detailed reopening plan that ensures the health and safety of employees and visitors.
THE WRIGHT MUSEUM OPENS MINDS AND CHANGES LIVES THROUGH THE EXPLORATION AND CELEBRATION OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY AND CULTURE. THE WRIGHT MUSEUM PROVIDES LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES, EXHIBITIONS, PROGRAMS, AND EVENTS BASED ON COLLECTIONS AND RESEARCH THAT EXPLORE THE DIVERSE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF AFRICAN AMERICANS AND THEIR AFRICAN ORIGINS.
