Gracias!   You started the Celebration in November 2021 and you continue to celebrate with us in April 2022!

Buenos Dias to All of You!   We greatly appreciate all of the help you have sent our way.

Thanks to your financial support, Centro Infantil de los Angeles continues to provide high quality Early Childhood Education to the children of our lowest income families in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  We are so grateful for you!

The COVID-19 Pandemic lead to a very real financial struggle for most of the world and it affected us in many ways.  We were told to cease in-person Daycare and Preschool.  Of course, Daycare services cannot be provided on-line.

Throughout the pandemic we provided E-learning to our preschoolers. We found a way to provide the tools each family needed to participate in E-learning.  Eventually, we progressed to Hybrid Learning and just recently, we are completely in-person learning again. It is nice to see our classrooms full of smiles and giggles again!

Challenging Roads lead to new discoveries. We have discovered that we have a lot of passion to keep this organization rolling and serving. It must be a God thing because just when we think we don’t have enough funds to continue, funding comes through.

Words do not adequately express the deep gratitude we have for all of our supporters. Your donations in 2021 and the first quarter of 2022, have given us hope. When those of us on the Board of Directors feel hope that hope and optimism spreads to the school Director, the teachers, our families and their children.

I had the extreme pleasure of volunteering with three and four year olds at our preschool in March, 2022.  During this time, I witnessed multiple examples of loving, caring, nurturing interactions between the children and their teachers. As a retired Bilingual/ESL teacher this warmed my heart. I witnessed our teachers and school director, Patricia, in the moments. I can tell you, our teachers are well trained and work as a team. They listen to each child, understand their developmental needs and help them use their words to describe their own feelings, needs and wants.  I am so grateful to be part of this organization!

A New Home for the Preschool in 2022

Volunteers and parents helped Patricia, our director, and the teachers move school supplies and furniture to our remodeled CILA campo in January 2022.   Our CILA campo includes a Volunteer House, playground and a building which was once our Daycare facility.  A few rooms in the daycare facility were converted to preschool classrooms.  It looks great!  We held a very successful Open House on March 26th from 2-4 pm.  We had a great time raising awareness in the community.

Why Did We Move the Preschool?

As the Board of Directors, we are fiscally responsible to keep our Preschool operating. Preschool is mandatory in Mexico and our children, and their families, need our services.  We have been maintaining two buildings with classrooms, yet our Daycare building has been empty since the Pandemic started.   Our Preschool building was put up for sale.  Parents, Volunteers, and our Program Director packed and moved all of the supplies and furniture to the Daycare building. We now operate in one building.

Throughout the pandemic we provided E-learning, then progressed to Hybrid Learning and just recently, we are completely in-person learning again. It is nice to see our classrooms full of smiles and giggles again!

It is our intention to raise enough funding to guarantee financial obligations to the Preschool and then open one class of Daycare by August 2022. More information on a new campaign will be coming soon.

Dear Supporters of Centro Infantil de los Angeles,

The moms of our students are extrememly grateful for the high quality educational opportunity we make possible to them.  Here is a letter that Teresa, one of our moms wrote to Centro Infantil.

"Soy mamá de Tomás y agradezco al Centro Infantil por dar educación a mi hijo. Antes mi hija Paulina estuvo aqui y va muy bien en la primaria.

Gracias por su ayuda ya que así puedo trabajar en algunos días.

Además es muy buena escuela y muchos quieren estar aqui y no tienen la suerte como nosotros."

Please help keep this program funded so we can continue to serve those families who need it the most for another school year.

Muchas Gracias,

During May, June and July

We maintained the delivery service of pantries to the mothers of our children with a total of 160 between kindergarten and preschool.

We resumed face-to-face classes with 100 preschool students who came voluntarily, and 20 who continued to work remotely for this return, we carried out the 3 sanitary filters that the sanitary protocol promotes.

With hybrid attendance, that is, half of the student enrollment attended 2 days and the other half 2, and the children with the greatest academic delay also attended on Fridays.

The students showed joy when they returned to their school, although the learning was not consolidated in the distance period, we gave ourselves to the task that in this time that they were in person, they would take advantage of a constant regularization.
The socio-emotional state of the majority was not good, but along with the academic activities, strategies were carried out in which the students expressed their feelings and actions were put into practice that would help to improve them.

We return with the volunteer program, receiving up to 5 who are supporting in the activities necessary for the preparation of the return to school.

During the end of July and these first weeks of August

The institutions were maintained, in the case of the nursery ramps were adapted to facilitate access for children with disabilities.

We remain in training from August 6 to plan the next school year.

We are also sanitizing and preparing everything for the return to school for the 2021-2022 cycle, in which we will maintain an enrollment of only 100 children in total.

Dear friends and supporters,

Thank you for your continued support and service throughout the last year and even before. CILA has been through a lot this last year and we are thankful to have friends like you to help our families keep moving forward!

With your support we were able to provide more than 3,600 dispensas buy uniforms and school materials for all our kids!

This year, as we start to see the end of the pandemic, we are reminded that many of the repercussions are still affecting our families. For that reason, we are hoping you can spread the word about our new campaign -

21 kids in 2021

This 2021, we hope to find 21 new sponsorships for our children. Each sponsorship covers all costs our little ones need to get through the entire school year. Receive updates and cards throughout the calendar year regarding your sponsor and learn all the fun things we are doing this year!

If you don't already, follow us on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn to see the kids we are highlighting for sponsorships!

Dear friends and supporters,

We are so thankful for the generosity you have shown these past six months. Who knew this COVID reality would last as long as it has and with no clear termination in sight. All of the support you have given us has gone to support our programs for the most vulnerable families in San Miguel.

Thanks to your continued help we were able to provide our students with the education they diserve - whether online or in person. Paty has been working hard to make sure no student loses out on early childhood education. Her reaction to this situation and her ability to conduct the necessary outreach to our families has proven her value and why she is our Executive Director. She has worked tirelessly with the teachers to ensure a smooth transition to distance learning for our young ones.

Distance learning officially started in September with each class meeting three times a week via Zoom. Paty and the teachers designed a program where students receive materials, learn online and submit their work virtually. Be happy to know our kids are continuing to learn and are loving every minute of it!

Check out our new blog post about it and more ways to help here

We are also launching the Giving Tuesday donating event so stay tuned for more infomation!

Thank you again for everything you do for us,

Your CILA Family
