This quarter reflects more than progress. It reflects a quiet but determined rebuilding… of spaces, of confidence, and of possibility for the students of Ibadan Grammar School.
1. Transforming Learning Through Laboratory Renovation
One of the most critical areas of focus this quarter has been the renovation of the school’s four science laboratories: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and General Science.
For years, these labs operated under constraints that limited effective teaching and hands-on experimentation. Structural wear, broken fittings, and safety concerns made it difficult for students to fully engage with practical science.
That is now changing.
Renovation efforts are addressing essential infrastructure, including:
This is not just a facelift. It is a restoration of dignity to the learning environment.
When students walk into these renewed spaces, something shifts. Science becomes real again. Curiosity has room to breathe. And for many, interest in STEM is being reignited in ways that textbooks alone could never achieve.
2. Expanding Opportunity Through STEM, Engineering, and Digital Skills
Beyond infrastructure, the focus remains firmly on equipping students with skills that prepare them for the future.
The STEM Program continues to grow as a platform for experiential learning. Students are being encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and approach problems with confidence and creativity.
The Engineering Club has become a space where ideas take shape. Through hands-on activities, students are learning foundational engineering concepts while developing teamwork and problem-solving skills. There is a noticeable shift. Students are no longer just learners, they are becoming creators.
The Web Club is opening doors into the digital world. Students are gaining early exposure to web design and coding concepts, giving them a glimpse into opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. For many, this is their first real interaction with building technology, not just using it.
Together, these programs are doing something powerful. They are expanding what students believe is possible for themselves.
3. Nurturing Voice, Thought, and Expression Through the Liberal Arts
While science and technology remain a strong focus, equal attention is being given to the development of the whole student through the Liberal Arts Program.
This initiative is strengthening students’ abilities in:
In classrooms and discussions, students are learning to find their voice, articulate their ideas, and engage thoughtfully with different perspectives.
Because in the end, education is not only about what students know… it is about how well they can express, apply, and lead with that knowledge.
The Liberal Arts Program ensures that students are not only technically equipped, but also confident, reflective, and capable of meaningful contribution in any field they choose.
This quarter’s work may not always be loud or dramatic, but it is deeply impactful.
A repaired lab.
A student building something for the first time.
A voice finding confidence in expression.
These are the building blocks of transformation.
And step by step, with your support, Ibadan Grammar School is not just improving… it is becoming a place where excellence can thrive again.
