Moving forward: An exciting time for Atlas Corps!

By Abby Robinson | Chief Strategy Officer | Alumna Class 2 (USA)

Hello!

2022 is both a busy and unforgettable year. Since announcing our #AtlasCorps2025 strategy earlier this year, we introduced new and exciting opportunities to help us grow into a more diverse and inclusive Community. Now, as we made it to the second half of 2022, I want to take a moment to thank you for all you have done for the Atlas Corps Community. Thank you for inspiring our Community of 1,400+ social change leaders from 115 countries, and for supporting the Atlas Corps Team’s organizational learning and capacity as we make our exciting transition into the future. And most of all, thank you for your ongoing support during these past two years of uncertainty and unexpected activity.

Here are some of our highlights since we launched the #AtlasCorps2025 strategy….

Global Community - We welcome new Fellows, Scholars, and Atlas Corps Team Members into our growing Community.

  • In May, we welcomed our second year of 50 Hilton Prize Scholars from 31 countries, which includes the three new countries of Lesotho, New Zealand, and Portugal. We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Learn more at 2022 Hilton Humanitarian Prize Laureate Leadership Institute.
  • In April, we welcomed Class 45, which includes 7 Fellows from India, Nigeria, El Salvador, Indonesia, and Rwanda.
  • Meet our new Team Members at Atlas Corps, Sabrina Khan, our new Operations Manager, and Nada Nassereddin, our new Program Associate, at: https://atlascorps.org/our-leadership/

  • Fellow Recruitment - Our deadline is June 22, 2022, to apply for the Atlas Corps Fellowship. Please find the posting materials here.

Blog Highlight - Fellow writes a “Call to Action” in a blog post

  • Fellow Brighton (Class 41, Zimbabwe) opens a discussion about DEI as a transformative process that centers on human impact, rather than policies and numbers: "The post pandemic era requires a point of convergence that is going to change the trajectory of human history especially when it comes to diversity and inclusion. This is an opportunity that calls for transformative leaders to inspire their spheres of influence."

Event Highlights - Atlas Corps launches the “Atlas Corps learns from” series

  • In March, our CEO Bidjan Nashat launched the “Atlas Corps learns from,” a series of conversations with global leaders on the best hiring practices for finding and retaining diverse and talented individuals
  • In his most recent conversation, Bidjan speaks with Tulaine Montgomery, Co-CEO of New Profit, about creating a lasting legacy and impact: “the challenge with ‘show and prove’ as your engine is that when you are busy showing and proving, you’re not doing a lot of listening and learning. So I think it’s important advice for folks early in their career to practice humility, to be curious, and take responsibility.” Click here to watch the full interview.

I truly cannot express enough the impact your ongoing support has on our Community, and we are happy to have you by our side as we move forward into the future!

Cheers-

Abby
