Many Girls Still Lack Trusted Health Education

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for supporting the Catch them Young: Digitize Sex Education for Girls project. We appreciate every gift received so far and are grateful that you share our concern for the health, safety, and future of young girls.

Across many underserved communities, girls enter adolescence with little understanding of the changes taking place in their bodies. Questions about menstruation, personal safety, consent, and reproductive health are frequently left unanswered. Some girls receive inaccurate information from friends, while others are discouraged from asking questions altogether.

Unfortunately, the funds currently available are not enough to begin the first phase of this project. More support is needed before we can purchase and prepare the educational tablets planned for the beneficiaries.

The goal of this project is to place age-appropriate learning tools directly into the hands of 150 girls between the ages of 10 and 16. Through offline videos, audio lessons in local languages, illustrations, quizzes, and other educational resources, the girls will be able to learn privately and safely without needing internet access. The learning sessions will also be guided by trained female facilitators who can provide support and answer questions.

Access to correct information at the right age can help girls make safer choices, recognize harmful situations, and better understand their health. It can also reduce the fear and confusion that many girls experience as they grow older.

Although implementation has not yet started, we remain encouraged by the support received so far. We hope additional donations will allow us to move this project forward and reach the first group of beneficiaries.

Thank you for believing that every girl deserves access to knowledge that can protect her health, dignity, and future. We look forward to sharing progress as the project develops.

With gratitude,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
