Thus far in 2015, Resonate’s programs have focused on supporting and bolstering Rwanda’s youth.
We have been working with a group of secondary school girls and guiding them through a process as they learn to see themselves as agents of change and community leaders. In December we conducted a 4-day leadership camp, including our core Storytelling for Leadership training, as well as modules on Identifying Strengths, Setting Goals, and designing impactful community projects. We are conducting follow-up workshops during school breaks in order to continue to provide guidance and support as the students carry out community projects in groups of 3 or 4. We are incredibly excited to be supporting these bright young women in their first steps toward community leadership.
Resonate is also partnering with Ashoka Youth Ventures, Bright Futures Cornerstone, and AKWOS to bring the Ashoka Youth Ventures program to Rwanda for the first time. The program will work with young people interested in social change and pair them with mentors and training to help develop their ideas and potential for being leaders of change.
Through these partnerships and the expansion of our core program Resonate is supporting our ultimate vision to see a world where all women and girls can be leaders in creating communities where everyone is valued and respected.
