A new group of young educators are preparing to begin teaching in classrooms across Saptari District.
This month, 16 newly selected schoolteachers and 3 Community Learning Center (CLC) lead facilitators completed a three-day training on Basic Pedagogy & Classroom Management led by the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) team in Tirhut Rural Municipality.
The training focused on learner-centered teaching, classroom management, student engagement, and interactive teaching approaches as participants prepare to begin supporting students across 13 CEP-supported schools.
This pilot initiative is especially meaningful because many of the participants are recent NYF-supported graduates who are now giving back to their own communities through education. The teachers receive a monthly stipend to support living expenses, and at the end of their commitment, may become eligible for a scholarship toward a master’s degree at a public university in Nepal.
