Give to AIDS Walk Portland to help prevent new HIV infections, care for and empower people living with HIV/AIDS, and eliminate HIV/AIDS-related stigma.
HIV and AIDS may have fallen from the headlines, but the number of new HIV infections diagnosed every year in Oregon hasn't decreased in well over a decade. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one in five HIV-positive people doesn't even know they have the virus, and these people are responsible for at least half of new infections. Through AIDS Walk Portland, Cascade AIDS Project heightens awareness about HIV/AIDS and raises money to continue the fight.
AIDS Walk Portland heightens awareness of HIV and AIDS, helps decrease the stigma and fear associated with talking about the virus, and raises needed funds to combat the virus.
AIDS Walk Portland encourages everyone to know their HIV status and to protect themselves. HIV education, testing, and prevention are our best weapons against the virus and ultimately the only way to combat the pandemic.
