Casa de Maria y el Nino has restored children's rights for over 40 years, giving them hope and care. Today, we face a crucial moment of transformation and adaptation to the new realities: According to Colombian law, institutions like ours (for children aged 0 to 8 years) will cease to operate, and the beneficiary children will be placed in foster homes. Therefore we will redirect all our efforts towards a new mission: supporting pregnant or breastfeeding mothers in situations of vulnerability.
Casa de Maria y el Nino, has taken care and supported vulnerable children in Medellin for 40 years. Today, we want to redirect our efforts towards the care and support of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers in situations of vulnerability. Why? Because Antioquia is the Colombian department with the highest number of births among girls and adolescents aged 10 to 19. Our experience and knowledge will impact on their lives, and the donations from our allies will allow us to start this project
With your donation, we will begin working on the detailed design and development of our accompanying program, by providing comprehensive and effective support to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers in need. By covering different aspects for the project's operation, such as hiring the team, ensuring security, covering maintenance, and other expenses, we will continue contributing to the care of vulnerable children, and we will provide attention and support to their motherss.
Providing a safe and welcoming space where vulnerable mothers can receive the support they need to overcome difficulties and create a better future for their children, is a way to contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty and reducing the inequality gap. This project will be implemented and carried out with PAN Corporacion Social, and we'll make a difference for thousands of mothers and their babies, contributing to the well-being of children from the very beginning of their lives.
