This is our favorite project of the year - and maybe the most meaningful - as we invite girls from orphanages throughout Vietnam to collaborate together about how they can address a local community challenge, code an app, and pitch their solution to the global community. We LOVE this project and we need your help to make it possible for these amazing girls.
Children in Vietnamese orphanages do not receive the support they need to overcome many challenges they face upon graduating from the orphanage. This results in thousands upon thousands of children ending up in jobs where they will be exploited in many different ways and unable to overcome the cycle of poverty that likely led to them entering the orphanage in the first place.
Since 2009 Kidspire Vietnam has been on the ground in 30 Vietnamese orphanages, learning the needs of the children and learning how to best support them to be prepared for leaving the orphanage. This project is helping them to navigate their future opportunities by providing them with targeted skill development in digital and internet literacy, one to one mentoring, career planning, strategic internships, and a huge boost in the self-confidence they need to take steps towards their future.
This project totally changes the career outlook of the participating students, helping them to gain skills required in the modern workforce, while giving them opportunities for internships in great local companies in Vietnam, as well as multinational corporations with a Vietnamese presence, and opportunities to earn jobs where they will have opportunities for personal and professional growth and development.
