When a child is hospitalized, the focus is naturally on the patient, while the mother's needs can become invisible. SOS Hospitales brings a new dimension of care to pediatric and neonatal hospitalization: caring for the caregiver. We create spaces for mothers to restore wellbeing through playful activities, celebrations, emotional health sessions, and one-on-one counseling, complemented by nutritious food, dignity resources, and emergency assistance-helping mothers stay emotionally strong and present throughout their child's recovery.
During a child's hospitalization, SOS Hospitales can turn a moment of crisis into an opportunity to strengthen mothers' resilience, emotional wellbeing, coping skills, and sense of dignity. By helping caregivers stabilize and access support, the project can strengthen their capacity to face future challenges, support their families, and navigate difficult transitions with greater confidence. Over time, this contributes to more resilient families and healthier caregiving relationships.
