Care and School Education of Street Children

Quarterly Progress Report May 2019 to July 2019

Thanks to all our donors who supported and encouraged us to continue Care and School Education of Street Children Project in Pune city. Foundation has conducted following activities from May 2019 to July 2019 for these children :

 May 2019

1^st May - Competitors Foundation started providing diet service to 400 children residing in Vishrantwadi, Khadki and Lohgaon area through Iscon Temple, Kondhwa

1^st May to 30^th May -  Summer camps were started for 1700 children with the purpose of keeping children busy so that they would not resort to begging and also upgrade their skills. It consisted of outdoor activities like sports along with indoor activities like drawing,, craft, dance, making various articles from used bottles etc.

June 2019

1^st to 15^th June – Registration, Counseling and school admission process was initiated in the areas where new street children came to reside. Necessary documents were procured for those children who did not have any document necessary for school admission. All such children were given school admission on 16^th June.

4^th June - 250 children from Hadapsar area were taken to Chokhi Dani Resort / entertainment park on a picnic and later with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital their health check up was done.

9^th June - 300 children from Vishrantwadi, Khadki, Lohgaon, Ramwadi and Tingrenagar areas were taken to Chokhi Dani Resort / entertainment park on a picnic and later with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital their health check up was done.

17^th June – 300 children from Dapodi, Sangvi and Katraj areas were taken to Chokhi Dani Resort / entertainment park on a picnic and later with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital their health check up was done.

20^th June – 200 children from Hadapsar, Karvenagar and Katraj areas were taken to Chokhi Dani Resort / entertainment park on a picnic and later with the help of team of doctors from Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital their health check up was done.

July 2019

In this month children who are not safe at their homes, not attending schools were moved to the hostel for street children at Katraj.

The newly admitted children are provided extra coaching from this month.
