Inam is an energetic 5-year-old, who’s often found either helping his mama with chores or playing soccer with other kids in his neighborhood. He wishes he could attend school, but he can’t because there aren’t any in his area. You heard me right: Inam has zero access to education simply because of where he lives.
That's why we are so driven to open an early childhood development school less than a block from where he lives. Opening our first school is important to us because it is a critical component in breaking the cycle of poverty that exists in many of the homes within our townships. In our province alone, there are over 500,000 children under the age of 5 that do not have access to education.
Right now, we have raised $14,500 to help us lauch 4 schools in 2016 in various townships within Cape Town. Those donations have helped us secure a contractor as well as building materials for the first school site. We have final meetings scheduled with important government entities in the next several weeks to finalize the approval process and we are hopeful that we can break ground within the first quarter of 2016.
Will you help us make an even greater impact now? We need an additional $35,500 to secure staff, supplies, security fences, and educational materials. Every little bit matters.
Thank you for partnering with us for the next generation. Together, we will make a lasting difference.
