Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Santa Rosa, California, Canine Companions enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly-trained service dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. Canine Companions trains five types of dogs to master over 45 specialized tasks: Service Dogs for adults with physical disabilities, service dogs for adults who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing, service dogs for children and facility dogs that work alongside professionals. We also provide service dogs to veterans with PTSD. After completing training, the dogs are teamed with a graduate during an intensive two week training period (Team Training). For the eighth consecutive year, Canine Companions placed over 300 service dogs, and over 7,300 dogs have been placed in the organization's history. All service dogs and follow-up services are provided free of charge to clients.
We are grateful for all you do to support our employees, clients and each other. Together, we lead with independence so our clients can live life to the fullest.
