Nellai Cancer Care Centre continued its cancer screening and awareness activities even as the country recovered from the effects of demonetization. As a non profit we are completely dependent on our generous donors to keep our operations going. Thanks to everyone who continued to help us despite the acute financial constraints. We are happy to share the data for the three months from April 2017 – June 2017.
The attached info-graphic provides a concise summary of our activities and achievements in creating cancer awareness for this period.
With the inauguration of the new centre at Alangulam, we are able to conduct more awareness and screenings. In addition we have also conducted more than 850 house visits in and around Alangulam to create awareness about cancer in the local population.
Our team of skilled doctors and nurses screened 1694 persons during this period. From these screenings 7 persons were identified for further follow up diagnosis due to the positive symptoms presented at the time of screening. Two persons were diagnosed with early stage oral pre-cancerous condition. One person was diagnosed as positive for early oral stage. Three persons were processed for followup diagnosis for breast cancer and one person with an early stage cervical cancer condition.
We are committed in our mission to conduct cancer awareness and screening in order to prevent and cure cancer in poor and disadvantaged people. It is your continued support that motivates and energizes us to work harder and reach more people each month.
Please share this with your friends and help spread the message that “Cancer is Preventable and Curable”. Looking forward to your continued support and help.
