Help volunteer firefighters in forest fires

During summer, the Argentine Patagonia suffered forest fires where over 50,000 native forest hectares were consumed.

Fundación Bomberos de Argentina launched its campaign "Puentes de la Prevención" (Bridges of Prevention), with which it assisted volunteer firefighters during the emergency with hydration items. In this opportunity, more than 600 bottles of water were delivered.

In addition, through Puentes de la Prevención, and with the support from companies and GlobalGiving, we will equip more than 200 volunteer firefighters from Río Negro, Chubut and Neuquén, the most affected provinces.

The amount -more than USD 45,000- will reach over 100 Volunteer Firefighters Associations, which ones will receive equipment to continue fighting future forest fires.

Fundación Bomberos de Argentina was alongside volunteer firefighters as forest fires began in the province of Córdoba, where 100,000 hectares have burned since 2024.

We were also in Villa Gesell (Buenos Aires), where a hotel had collapsed and more than 500 firefighters were searching for people and clearing debris.

We donated:

• 4400 litres of water
• 860 bottles of isotonic drinks
• 100 pairs of gloves
• 50 safety glasses
• 50 first aid kits

Emergencies require support during their development and, in the second instance, during their recovery. The Fundación Bomberos de Argentina accompanies the entire process to ensure that the firefighters have the support they need.

Puentes de la Prevención is the campaign of Fundación Bomberos de Argentina that aims to act as a link between the National Volunteer Firefighting System and the private and public sectors and other NGOs.

Its main objectives are: to bring the issue closer to the private sector when a national emergency is declared and to promote alliances that collaborate in the firefighters' work.
