Hello Camp Shout Out Friends:
Camp staff has been very busy planning for the third session of camp to be held in August as well as participating in community events.
We were invited to host an aid station for the Fifth-Third River Bank Run held in Grand Rapids, MI in May. The River Bank Run is described as being the largest 25K race in the United States. We handed out nearly 6000 cups of water, 6000 cups of Gatorade and several thousand cups of ice. Campers, parents, friends, previous camp participants and camp staff all enjoyed dressing up like pirates and being a part of this amazing event. Many of the volunteers were ready to sign up for the May 2014 race.
Our camper, speech-language pathologist and graduate student enrollments for the Camp Shout Out 2013 session are at capacity. We have participants attending from several states, Canada, Guatemala, and South Korea, which will make this a truly global experience.
We can't wait for August to see old friends and welcome new members into our 'camp family'.
