Your support helps us move forward!

By Kathryn Stewart | Project Coordinator

Your donations continue to support our work to engage stakeholders to support the safe development and eventual use of Multipurpose Prevention Technologies (MPTs).

Last month, CAMI helped organize an international meeting, the Global Forum on MPTs, in London.  This meeting convened a small multidisciplinary cadre of experts from around the world working in the areas of family planning, HIV/AIDS and STI prevention, product developers, regulators, social scientists, policy makers, clinicians, and donors to help shape the evolving strategy for accelerating the development of MPTs for those regions in the world with a substantial unmet need for these prevention options. CAMI will use lessons learned from this important meeting, combined with outcomes from the November Symposium to help advance our work funded by your generosity.

Here is what your donations are supporting thus far:

  • the development of outreach materials for both domestic and international stakeholders.  This will include the printing and distribution costs, once the materials are finalized;
  • the creation of an educational platform which is being used for both web-based and in-person presentations with international audiences;
  • strategic outreach efforts, including development of an outreach toolkit tailored to specific regions and populations to help engage stakeholders.  This includes training and distribution of the toolkit to our international partners.

As CAMI moves forward, your support will continue to contribute to our work.  The outreach materials and educational platform will play a key role in engaging both domestic and international stakeholders.  These tools are critical as we continue to expand our international outreach efforts to new locations and we hope to soon adapt them to be used in different languages.  There is still a long road ahead, but we are confident that with continued support like yours, we will reach our goal!
