Education material for four families in Kouk Srok

By Pisey | Senior Project Manager

Hello everybody!

After great donations we could achieve our next success in Kouk Srok village! We were able to provide school kits and school uniforms to five selected families, who live in very difficult situations. In three of the five families, one parent has to take care of the children itself, as the partner has passed away.

Moreover, their skills are very low, only allowing them to perform very low paied jobs like fishing or construction works. For education and the appropriate school material for their children there is simply no money left. Nevertheless, the circle of poverty can only be overcome with education. This is why it is so important that the children from Kouk Srok attend the school regularly, which is only possible with a school uniform and school materials.

When we provided the school kits to the families their were very thankful and the children could not wait to try on their new uniforms and look at their backpacks filled with notebooks and pens. Their laughing and smiles always give our team a big boost of motivation. Also, we could explain to them what the materials are for and how to use them with care.

Head of one of the families is a single mother. Her husband died many years ago because of sickness, so she has to work hard as a construction worker and earns only 5USD a day to support her family. She told us “I am so delighted and grateful for this support. I want to thank the staff and the organization that spends so much time to help poor families like ours and other families as well.”

We also explained the importance of a regular school attendance to the families and advised them on how to keep the uniforms clean. We hope to ensure a good progress with our regular follow-ups in Kouk Srok.

Without you this achievement would not have been possible! Thank you very much!
