Oral Hygiene Education
Healthy teeth are an essential foundation for children's well-being, confidence, and ability to learn. We reached out to the University of Puthisastra to help bring health education to our school community in rural Prey Touch commune. Students in our primary and secondary schools learned the importance of good oral hygiene and how to care for their teeth. A team of 30 medical students and faculty traveled from Phnom Penh to our Prey Touch Commune to spend the day teaching oral and general hygiene and talking about healthy diets. The university students showed a genuine commitment to serving the community, while the children were inspired by meeting future doctors and healthcare professionals. It was a day filled with joy and hope and certainly sparked dreams about the future.
Feedback from the Community
We conducted a survey of scholarship students, parents, teachers, and community leaders to gather feedback on the programs we provide. The survey covered our after-school English language, science, and computer programs, the college scholarship program, the international volunteer program, partnerships with other organizations, and health initiatives. It also included questions about our strategic direction and future growth.
Soft Skills Workshop
We held a Soft Skills Workshop at the dormitory with our college scholarship students. This session was a fun, creative art class designed to build community, relieve stress, and learn a new skill. The students enjoyed the activity of creating self-portrait collages.
