It’s always nice to get a letter and even better when you get a thank you. We regularly get updates from the Project Managers about how well the project is going and occasionally we get notes from the students too, updating us on what they have been up to. Therefore we would like to share some their news with you, and take this opportunity to say thank you to you for your continued support and help in giving the young adults these invaluable experiences.
Our most recent news came from some young adults who have been lucky enough to be getting work experience in various hotels in Siem Reap. Being responsible tourism enthusiasts we are continuously pleased to see how this engagement within the hospitality industry has such a positive impact on the students.
Siem Reap is a thriving tourist destination and the development of hotels is immense therefore there is ample opportunity for our young adults to obtain jobs in tourism. Hence why we’re so enthusiastic to pursue these work experiences because the more experience the students have, the better chance there is to get a job after their studies and in turn creating real life chances for them to support their own futures.
“When I was working I gain more training and work communication, I get guest experience like I can make a napkin style, set up a plate, spoon, fork and service food & drink and I can improve my English. I’m very love this part-time job. Finally I would like to say thank you for you give me a chance to work there.”
“The job is very important for communicate and earn experience. It help me know about the job.”
“I am learn a lot of job that I never do. Like I wash dishes, slice meat, clear dishes from the table and take food to the buyer.”
"When I got the chance to join the function at Angkor Wat I’ve got many experiences such as knew how to serve, work in a group, improve my speaking and listening to English, got confidence and money”
We hope you agree that these opportunities are assisting the young adults to really find their feet and learn a variety of skills from working in a hotel and not just practical ones. The hotel industry teaches more than just serving guests it teaches team work, camaraderie, thinking on your feet and communication skills. What do you think?
If you agree and want to help give more students with these invaluable opportunities then Global Giving are offering the fantastic chance to donate another 50% of what you donate this week starting from today!
Thank you all for your continued support!
