XI Architects LTD of Singapore, lead by the dynamic Mr Chu Yang Keng, came up with the idea of a Cube Library that could be mobile if needed. They chose CCDO and Kiriminoen School to be the beneficiary of the amazing library. They fundraised to build this and the installation with books and little nooks and cube seating was completed in June with a great celebration. Sadly, we are missing a librarian to bring the books to life.
An innovative library with books is a true gift, however, it needs a librarian to make it come to life and instill the power of reading in the children. The Librarian is like a second teacher and can help with homework and correct English. The librarian connects the books through art.
It costs $200 a month to run the library efficiently with paying a full-time librarian and distributing art supplies. We have seen the positive outcome at our Tapang School Library.
The children are able to use their imagination and be creative and confident. The library is an important part of any education.
