The Reality Faced in Homes Marked by Gunfire
Your generous donations were used to provide food assistance to two families affected by armed conflict in Cambodia.
During a visit to the community, the Taihwa Cambodia Office witnessed firsthand the lasting impact of the conflict. Bullet holes were still visible in the trees surrounding the homes, as well as on the walls and windows inside the houses.
Most heartbreaking were the bullet marks found near the bedrooms where family members slept, serving as a stark reminder of the fear and uncertainty the residents endured during the conflict. These traces remain a powerful testimony to the hardships the families have experienced.
Damaged Farmland and Disrupted Lives
Before the conflict, these families relied on farming as their primary source of income and livelihood. However, the fighting caused significant damage to their homes and farmland, making it difficult for them to continue farming as they once did.
The land and livelihoods they had worked so hard to build were suddenly disrupted, leaving many families struggling to secure even basic necessities. Community members shared that access to food and essential household items remains one of their most urgent needs.
Comfort and Hope Through Your Support
The rice, food supplies, and daily necessities provided through this support brought much-needed relief to the affected families. Community members expressed their gratitude, sharing that they had been most concerned about securing enough food and that the assistance was a tremendous help during this difficult time.
Your generosity provided more than essential supplies. It offered comfort, encouragement, and hope to families living with the uncertainty and hardship left behind by the conflict. We sincerely thank all our donors for standing with the people of Cambodia and helping them move toward a more peaceful and stable future.
