Buy school supplies for 50,000+ Kids in Rural Togo

Habitat & Education Promotion is pleased to share the results of our latest school-supply distribution in the rural communities of Kpélé and Agou, Togo.

On July 9 and 10, 2026, our team visited 26 primary schools to recognize students for their academic effort and help families prepare for the upcoming school year. Over 400 students received school-supply kits during the two-day distribution.

Encouraging Academic Excellence

In each participating classroom, the three highest-performing students were identified based on their academic results. Each student received a package containing notebooks, pens, geometry sets, other school materials, and khaki fabric for a new school uniform.

Our goal is not only to provide supplies, but also to recognize effort and encourage children to continue taking their education seriously. By celebrating achievement publicly, we hope the recipients feel proud of their hard work while other students are motivated to work toward their own academic goals.

The distribution also provides practical assistance to parents. For many rural families, purchasing school supplies and uniform materials for the beginning of a new academic year can be challenging. Providing these resources helps reduce some of that financial pressure.

26 Schools Reached

The distribution reached schools throughout both Agou and Kpélé, bringing together students, teachers, parents, community representatives, volunteers, and members of Habitat & Education Promotion. The activity was organized with the cooperation and authorization of local and regional education authorities.

The results included:

• 26 elementary schools supported
• Over 400 students rewarded
• The top three students in each class recognized
• School supplies provided for the upcoming academic year
• Khaki fabric provided to help students prepare school uniforms
• Families supported with back-to-school expenses
• Academic excellence encouraged across participating schools

More Than School Supplies

A notebook, pen, or geometry set may appear simple, but to a child preparing for another year of school, these materials represent opportunity.

They help children participate in lessons, complete their work, stay organized, and begin a new school year with confidence.
