The Horses in New Pasture Grass
Spring is here and the grass is finally growing again! Thank you so much for your donations this winter. Round bales and square bales of hay begin to get scarce about this time every year until the grass starts growing and fresh hay can be cut and baled. Our hay suppliers are saying it is about that time and we are looking forward to it.
Please note that we will be closing this campaign and starting something new for 2016. This does not mean that we are still not in need of hay. Please consider donating to assist us in continuing to fund hay for our rescue and sanctuary horses. Please share with your friends and family about Iron Gait Percherons and our cause.

We hope everyone had a great holiday season. Now we are into the new year and winter is certainly upon us here in Georgia. There hasn't been much snow yet, but the rain has been relentless. So much so, that we had a big flooding event around Christmas time that caused quite a bit of damage to our pasture fence lines. As a result, we have had to close several pastures until fencing can be restored and we are in more need of Hay funds than ever. We have been working hard to recover from this disaster. Once again, thank you so much to everyone that has donated to this project so far. Previous donations did enable us to put away a little hay for the winter, but no where near enough... so that did not last long! We go through over 90 round bales per month here at IGP. That is over $3,600 per month. Our hay demand is ongoing. We need your help.

September Update on Hay Fund - Falling Short

Once again, thank you so much to everyone that has donated to this project so far! Previous donations have enabled us to put away a little hay for the winter, but no where near enough! There was a shortage of hay last winter and we ended up buying out all our suppliers, friends, and neighbors. Now is the time to stock up while supplies are available. We literally go through hundreds of roundbales through the winter months.
Unfortunately, we have fallen way short of our goal for this year's hay fund and have some catching up to do in order to carry us through the winter. The good news is that we have made arrangements with a couple of generous and supportive suppliers to put hay away just for us and for a reasonable volume price. Now we just need to be able to fund it. Please consider donating to assist us in helping to make this happen.
