Help Rural Women Gain Essential Business Skills

Dear Mann Deshi Supporters,

I would like to share a story of Sanjana.  Sanjana is another successful entrepreneur associated with the Mann Deshi foundation.  Due to some inevitable events after her marriage, the entire responsibility of running the household fell on Sanjana’s shoulders. She started working as labourer at a farm. During this time, a friend introduced her to the Mann Deshi. After financial literacy class, she took a group loan of 15 thousand rupees from Mann Deshi and started a sugarcane juice centre.

She took part in the Mann Deshi marketing Mohotsav (marketing platform) and made a profit of 35 thousand. This profit was a result of sales only in 4 to 5 days of the Mohotsav. This increased her confidence in her entrepreneurial abilities and she was motivated to expand her business. She has a permanent juice centre now and made a profit of 1 lakh 20 thousands in the last summer.

She has attended several workshops of the Mann Deshi Business School. These were very beneficial for her, she says. She was very inspired by another Mann Deshi entrepreneur, the National Award winner Vanita Pise. After workshops, she has her own visiting cards, pamphlets and banners. She is glad to be a part of Mann Deshi and aspires to become a very successful businesswoman, an inspiration for her kids.
