Dear Mann Deshi Supporters,
With your support, Kalpana is running a Carpentry Business successfully.
Kalpana is a lively young woman with an infectious smile. Married at seventeen, she is running carpentry business. She buys wooden planks that she crafts into elaborately carved doors. Kalpana first heard of Mann Deshi from her neighbour. She enrolled in financial literacy & enterprise development program of Mann Deshi and has taken a loan of Rs. 20,000. Now she could purchase new tools to improve productivity. As a result, her business and profits have increased. Every month, she makes about ten doors, and during the summer months, when construction work in the area is at its peak, business is brisk.
“After attending a financial planning workshop organized by Mann Deshi, I opened a weekly post office recurring deposit account. An increase in my income also gave me the comfort to make some house improvements like addition of two rooms to our home and is in the midst of building a toilet. I plan to take another loan soon to buy a hole-punching machine which will help in further expansion of my business.”- says Kalpana
Thank you so much !
