Final report
Bus for 83 children in Guatemala with Disabilities
We are happy to report that we have exceeded our target. We have raised $5826.94, thanks to the many people who shared our project with their family, friends and co-workers, but especially thanks to your generous donation.
Your donation helps children to continue attending school and receive their medical treatments.
Every two weeks we bring eight children to Guatemala City for medical treatment, accompanied by their parents as well as translators, as most of the parents only speak the local Mayan language.
One of the children we support is Natalia, a smiley child who can’t resist the urge to dance whenever she listens to music. Up until a few months ago, Natalia’s mother carried her on her back in a sling. Her face showed the fatigue of caring for Natalia along with her two younger brothers.
Natalia lives in San Lucas Toliman. At four months old, she got sick, and it took her parents a long time to get her to the local health center. She had an unrelenting fever and seizures that would change her life.
With the medical care offered at Adisa and appointments every three months in the capital city with a neurologist, Natalia’s seizures are under control.
Natalia also receives frequent therapy sessions with the goal of improving her balance while standing.
With perseverance, we can move forward together with these families.
