Dear Supporters,
Since our Learning Centres reopened in May 2010 both students and teachers alike have been busy bees, keeping themselves thoroughly occupied and entertained with a number of extra curricular activities. Here are a couple....
Environmental Cleanup On May 27th, in accordance with Grassroot’s (The local name for FED) growing environment and conservation interest and long term goals, staff, parents, students and community members cleaned and collected waste around one of our learning centers and in the general community area. Another set of students also participated in a beach clean up in the Ban Nam Khem area on June 9th.
Curriculum workshop: Through continuous assessment, education staff do their best to improve their delivery of education so that our children benefit from the best. Over 3 days from May 28th-30th, a Teachers' capacity building and curriculum workshop was conducted. 16 teachers participated to the workshop. The issues discussed in the the workshop included: child-centered teaching methods, administration of our learning centers, the role of headmasters, the content of 2009 - 2010 curricula, and the evaluation of student competencies and learning.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
