We have exciting news for you! Last month the National Final took place in Sofia! The participants impressed the jury and the audience with their knowledge, dedication and ambition. Besides being excellent spellers they had various other talents such as playing musical instruments, being fluent in other foreign languages, and qualifying for international space camp, just to name a few. This year we had a precedent - Nikol Petrova from Pleven and Vladimir Zhivkov from Lovech were declared co-champions. For the first time in the history of the competition the spelling list was exhausted and the jury was unable to announce one champion. Nikol is 12 years old and she wants to become a surgeon. Her favorite word is ‘circumstance’. Vladimir is 14 and this was his last Spelling Bee competition. His advice for next year’s participants is: “Work hard! It is worth it because the whole experience is amazing!” Getting to know the finalists and their teachers is always very inspiring for us. Seeing their potential motivates us to continue to develop our programs. We want to thank you for your support because without you we will not be able to reach out to so many Bulgarian students.
Stay tuned for updates from the Spelling Bee Summer Camp!
In the last couple of weeks our bees have been very busy spelling! From February 27th until March 2nd more than 6500 students from the whole country took part in the school competitions. We visited some of the schools and it was such a pleasure to meet all the participants. Since November they had been studying the words from the list and were proud to show all that they had learned. They were all very motivated and excited, and of course a little bit nervous. Now the school champions are getting ready for the regional competitions which will be held in 8 cities in Bulgaria on March 26th.
The Spelling Bee project would not have been possible without your support! It is our aim to give each interested student an opportunity to learn and with your donations we have the resources to reach out to them.

The Spelling Bee team sends you our warmest season's greetings! We hope that the holidays are filled with warmth, love and joy!
As we get ready for Spelling Bee 2016, we are happy to report that more than 6500 students have already started learning the new words and preparing for the school bees. They love the competition because it is different, interesting and fun. We want to thank you because without your support we would not be able to reach so many children and give them an opportunity to improve their English. We look forward to sharing their successes with you.
Merry Christmas and a Buzzing New Year!
