Project Update for Our GlobalGiving Community

Dear respected donor,

On behalf of Shehersaaz, thank you once again for your generous support. We would like to share a transparent update on how your contribution is being used and the progress it has made possible so far.

When we first visited the Anjuman Faizul Islam Govt Boys High school, our intention was to directly purchase science laboratory equipment so students could begin using it as soon as possible. However, once we were on site, we realized something important: the building itself needed urgent care before it could safely hold new learning tools.

This is a Govt High school located in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and over 130 years old. After a careful inspection, our architect confirmed that the walls required treatment and repair, the 20-feet-high ceilings had cracks and damage, and many doors and windows required repair. Without addressing these issues, installing new lab equipment would not be safe or sustainable.

So, with your kind donation, the restoration process has officially begun.

We are currently:

  • Treating and repairing the walls
  • Painting walls and ceiling which is 20 feet high and 34 feet long
  • Repairing doors and windows
  • Preparing for LED lighting

This groundwork is essential to create a safe, healthy environment where students can learn with dignity.

Challenges We Are Facing

One of the biggest difficulties was the severe electricity outage, which was slowing down the painting and repair work. To ensure that progress does not stop, we arranged flashlights for the workers so they can continue even during outages.

These are the realities of working in aging public school buildings — but we are committed to pushing forward.

What Comes Next

Before we bring in laboratory equipment, we must first complete:

  • Wall restoration
  • Electrical wiring
  • Installation of LED lights
  • Repair all doors and windows
  • Bathroom fixture repair like taps and leaking valves

Only then will the science lab be safe, bright, and functional for the students who will use it. With smooth donations we will manage this without any delays.

A Call to the GlobalGiving Community

This is where we humbly ask for continued support.

Your donation did not just start a project — it unlocked a transformation. But to complete it, we need more hands, more hearts, and more believers in the power of education.

We invite everyone on GlobalGiving to join us in this effort.

Together, we can:

  • Restore a historic school
  • Build a safe science lab
  • Provide children with a dignified place to learn
  • Create classrooms filled with light, not darkness

Photos and videos are attached to show you exactly where your support is going.
All receipts will be shared as the work continues, so you can see every rupee used responsibly.

Thank you for trusting us, standing with our children and helping turn broken walls into places of hope.

With gratitude,
Anahita Sajjad
