Build Healthy Foundations for 40,000

Friends of San Lucas closed out 2025 with the highest fundraising year to date! This allowed us to support more programs and projects than ever before in San Lucas, providing services to over 45,000 people in the community. Some incredible feats in the year included:

• 83 homes built for families who had previously lived in undignified conditions
• 21,353 patients served through the Mission's hospital and rural healthcare programs
• 89 coffee growers supported through purchasing of beans at a competitive wage

Here is the story of one family who was directly impacted by the work. The father grew up in San Lucas and has worked hard to provide for his family. He currently works as a coffee farmer, but was not able to make enough wages to support the growing needs of his family of seven. They lived on land inherited from his parents and built a small home, but with four growing children sharing a bed, the situation became unsuitable. They applied for a home through the Mission's construction program and worked side-by-side with contracted workers to complete a four-room block home on their land. The moved in on June 27 and are thriving in their new environment!
