Summary

"Building kindergarten for 100 kids in Uganda" is a sub-project of our bigger project - "Building a school and orphanage" which is partial funded. "Smile for Africa foundation" has the courage to realize the dream of buying land and build a school, orphanage and kindergarten in rural Uganda. Our purpose is to give home for around 100 orphans and care and education for more than 300 children.

Challenge

Today, part of the kids are living and studying in constructions, which can hardly be called "house" and "school". In conditions of misery and constant morbidity they can not receive the good care and education, which they deserve. Even worse- a lot of children in the region don`t have access to them at all. When a child doesn't have access to a kindergarten/school it impacts every part of his life- to the worldview, the probability of violence and disease and of course- to his life expectancy.

Solution

With the donations to this project "Smile for Africa foundation" will build kindergarten, where 100 kids will have access to good care and very basic education. Together we will give them a chance for a better start in their lives. On the other hand, the Foundation will build an orphanage house and primary school for the bigger ones.

Long-Term Impact

As it is well said - the first seven years are the most important and they are the key to a successful life. Giving children the opportunity to explore and study is an important first step to their independence. Education is fundamental to sustainable development, it is a powerful driver for reducing poverty and improving health. With care and knowledge we will give not only better present, but a better future for them and for next generations.
