Dear GlobalGiving Friends,
We hope you are well.
Thanks to your generous support, we have received approximately USD 70 (equivalent to COP 270,000) toward the construction of the second phase of the new Casa de los, Dones headquarters. In addition, the foundation has mobilized approximately USD 8,500 (COP 34,000,000) through in-kind donations and locally managed contributions, which have allowed us to continue advancing the construction process.
With these resources, we have made important progress in the construction. The perimeter enclosure of the property has been completed, the tile installation (floor finishing) in several areas has been carried out, and we are currently building the structural base for the stairways that will connect the different levels of the facility.
This new headquarters will allow us to serve up to 50 boys in extremely vulnerable situations, many of whom have experienced abuse, neglect, or life on the streets and require a safe environment where their rights can be restored.
Although these advances represent an important step forward, additional resources are still needed to complete the second phase of construction and finish the spaces required for psychosocial care, education, and daily living for the children.
Every contribution brings us one step closer to opening the doors of a safe home where these children can heal, rebuild their lives, and dream again. We are deeply grateful to the GlobalGiving community for walking alongside us in this mission.
We are pleased to share a few photos that show the progress made in the construction of the second phase of the new Casa de los Does headquarters. These images reflect the important steps that have been possible thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters.
Warm regards,
Fundacion Dones de Misericordia
