Gift a Home to 50 Boys in Cartagena

We are happy to share that we have begun our second phase of the Nueva Casa de los Dones!

We are deeply moved and full of gratitude as we share the latest progress on the second phase of the Nueva Casa de los Dones. Thanks to the generous support of donors and friends like you, we are excited to announce that construction is about to begin!

This new stage brings us one step closer to our dream of offering a safe, dignified, and loving home to 50 children in extreme vulnerability—many of them survivors of abuse. Currently, our program is supporting 25 children. Once this new phase is completed, these children will move into a space better suited to their needs, allowing us to double our capacity and care for 25 more children who urgently need protection and hope for a better future.

We’re especially grateful to Fundación Corona, who donated all the tiling and flooring materials for this construction. In addition, we’ve received generous contributions from individuals whose kindness will allow us to break ground this very month. We’ve organized events and campaigns to raise funds and awareness, and it is thanks to this collective effort that we are reaching this pivotal moment.

However, we still have a long way to go. To fully furnish and operate this new home, we need continued support from people like you—people who believe in the transformative power of love, protection, and opportunity.

Together, we can make this dream a reality. Together, we can offer 50 children a space where healing begins and a brighter future is possible.

All the staff and volunteers are very grateful that you have joined or continue helping to provide children with high quality care in all cognitive, physical and emotional areas and thus shape their dreams and achieve them.

Fundacion Dones de Misericordia in 2025, is making the big dream of building our own Casa de los Dones program headquarters come true.

Your participation in the construction of this project has been fundamental, not only for its initial financial support but also for the role it has played in building trust and credibility with other potential funders.

Thanks to its support, it was possible to attract new strategic allies, including companies from the construction sector, industry, and private donors, who contributed financial resources, materials, and equipment. These contributions not only facilitated the successful completion of the first phase, which included the industrial kitchen, pantry, dining room, bathroom, and handwashing area, but also allowed for the optimization of resources, reduction of costs, and improvement of the quality of the materials used. This support network has been key to expanding the project's scope, accelerating its execution, and strengthening its positive impact on the community.

These partnerships have been instrumental in the efficient execution of the project and have significantly contributed to the positive impact it generates in the community.

Impact of Contributions:

1. A more resistant and attractive finish was achieved, increasing beneficiary satisfaction and reducing long-term maintenance costs.

2. Guaranteed the quality and strength of the structure, ensuring the project's sustainability over time.

3. The space layout was optimized and a harmonious aesthetic was achieved, increasing the functionality and comfort of the built area.

4. The energy efficiency and safety of the space were improved, contributing to its proper function.

5. Construction process, was able to be done at a high speed, without compromising quality in the execution of the work.

Thanks to you, our collaborations were able to not only developed with high-quality materials but also allowed for the creation of strategic ties with the private sector. This laid the foundation for future partnerships in similar projects and strengthened the business sector's commitment to community development.
