Challenge

In an era when access to internet is a right and the means to access education, enjoy their citizenship and be able to engage in business transaction. Large number of Nigeria living in rural areas lack access to the internet. This is mainly because they are too poor and too sparsely populated that investor do not see economic logic of rolling our connectivity infrastructure to these areas. As of last year, the government agency, USPF says that there 97 of such clusters of unconnected communitie

Solution

The project will end their lack of connectivity by providing an internet access points over a wide range. People who cannot afford to buy or own access devices (such as laptop, etc) can come to the hub and use devices there. Children and youth registration for national examination is done online, can do so at the hub and can sit for online examinations there. They will use the hub to enroll for national identity, ending their identify exclusion thus enabling them to access financial services

Long-Term Impact

Members of the communities will be linked to the internet and benefit from that. Students of secondary schools will be able to apply and sit for their national examinations for transition to higher levels from their communities. The connectivity will also improve access to education materials, including online learning opportunities. Youth will learn new skills and engage in new businesses. Youth can have access to online mentors. They will have access to information from govt and other sources

This project has provided additional documentation in a DOCX file (projdoc.docx).
