WACN works to empower women through a Savings and Credit Cooperative model. Women learn how to save money, provide loans to each other, and invest in income-generating activities that improve not only their lives but also the lives of their families.
Thanks to your support, WACN trainings are helping women develop strong and effective cooperatives. As a result of these trainings, women are reporting successes such as:
Gaining confidence through trainings to run cooperative activities
Accumulating scattered local resources in the cooperative through savings
Increased self-employment and awareness of women’s issues
Including women of all castes in the program
Although interest and participation in the cooperatives has increased, a major challenge is finding the sufficient resources to train new members. Limited funding means that women still lack the adequate funds to take out loans to make larger purchases such as buying cows and buffalo in order to further their sustainability.
By donating to WACN you are ensuring more women can benefit from participating in these cooperatives.
Thank you for your support.
