Project Proposal Report: Establishing a Safe School for Persecuted Children in Lahore, Pakistan 1. Executive Summary

Children from religious minority communities in Lahore face fear of discrimination, exclusion, and persecution due to their faith. These barriers deeply impact their access to education and their emotional well-being. To address this crisis, we propose the establishment of a separate, safe, and inclusive school in Lahore where persecuted children can learn, grow, and thrive without fear of rejection or harassment because of their beliefs.

This school will provide quality education, emotional support, vocational training, and a nurturing environment rooted in dignity, respect, and equality. It will enable children to reach their full potential and break the generational cycle of poverty, discrimination, and exclusion.

2. Background & Context

Pakistan is a diverse country with many religious and cultural communities. However, children from minority faiths often experience:

• Limited access to quality education due to fear or discrimination

• Social exclusion and harassment in public schools

• Emotional trauma and fear associated with openly practicing their beliefs

• Limited community support structures for stability and growth

In Lahore, this challenge is particularly acute. Many families hide their children from mainstream educational institutions out of fear of rejection, bullying, or prejudice. As a result, these children are denied the rights every child deserves — education, safety, belonging, and hope.

3. Problem Statement

Persecuted children in Lahore suffer from:

1. Educational Disparities
   Many are denied admission or feel unsafe in regular schools.

2. Psychological Stress
   Ongoing fear of discrimination affects self-esteem, confidence, and academic performance.

3. Community Isolation
   Children and families lack spaces where they're accepted without fear because of their faith.

4. Lack of Support Services
   There are no dedicated institutions providing comprehensive care – including academic, emotional, and social support – tailored to these vulnerable children.

To establish a safe, inclusive, and empowering educational institution in Lahore for persecuted and marginalized children — where every child can learn and grow without fear of discrimination because of their faith.

5. Target Beneficiaries

This school will serve:

• Children from persecuted religious communities living in Lahore and nearby districts

• Children from families living in poverty and social exclusion

• Students currently out of school due to safety concerns

• Boys and girls between the ages of 4 to 16
