The progress in Kachiuru School has been very good in the last term as reported by the Head teacher Mr. Samuel Mutambari. He reported that the school term was very good and Kachiuru girls were very excited after receiving sanitary towels provided by our partners Friends of Kenya Schools and Wildlife (FKSW) in January this year. The teacher reported that there were no cases of girls absenteeism during their monthly periods unlike previously. The teachers and the parents were very happy with this initiative of supporting the girls with the towels and they thank them for considering their girls. Feeding program was also successful during the term despite the prolonged drought in the region. They were able to continue with the feeding program throughout the term and again they thank their supporters. The school borehole has been very effective and especially during the dry periods, it has been very effective to the school and the neighboring communities and this has also contributed to the success of the school feeding program. The school population has increased this year and the earlier plan of building more classrooms and providing desks is still very ideal. The school management decided to construct a temporary classroom in January this year after school enrolled more pupils. They are organizing for a fundraising to source funds for putting up more classrooms. We wish them all the best and encourage our well-wishers to consider giving a hand in this to support this needy community.
