Build School for 80 Students in Arid Kachuru Kenya

By Lucy Mathenge | Project Assistant

We have just concluded conducting monitoring and evaluation on our school project and we are happy to report that this project is promising. We made follow up on performances of the scholarship beneficiaries and the progress to this far is good. We have realized that these beneficiaries are doing will in their class work and the absenteeism has really reduced unlike before when we had so many beneficiaries missing school. The teachers were really pushing us to increase the number of beneficiaries but due to limited resources at the moment we cannot increase the number. Our partners are trying to fundraise for more beneficiaries and we hope in January we will have more beneficiaries. At the moment we are organizing a visit with our partner in September where they will visit the beneficiaries and have a session with them and their parents. These visits are important as we are able to discuss the challenges facing these families as well as encouraging parents to ensure that they provide learning materials and uniforms to their children once they receive scholarship money. We thank all our partners for committing themselves in fundraising for these needy families.
