Kachiuru primary school has now closed school for August holiday, they have had a successful term and they are very happy for the support they have received from different players. The pupils were excited to have vegetables from their school garden where they enjoyed working on the garden and harvesting crops and they had them in their lunch program. The parents were also excited and they had the opportunity to learn modern farming techniques by using locally available materials like old sacks and buckets. The garden is still good although it has been dry but they have been practicing simple irrigation skills to maintain the garden. We were not able to start constructing the new classroom as earlier reported as there were some challenges which delayed the construction process. Construction work will commence soon as we want to take advantage of the August holiday to ensure that the work will not affect the learning program and on the other hand pupils will not play with the construction materials. We are grateful for this support given to Kachiuru School as this classroom will accommodate many pupils and ensure conducive learning environment. We are still appealing for more support from our well-wishers and partners to furnish the classroom once it is finished. We appreciate all the support given towards this project and invite others to consider supporting our communities. We wish the pupils and teachers a nice August holiday and we hope to have a new classroom for them in September 2018.
