Parents will build 5 preschools in 5 rural communities in eastern Nicaragua. Their preschoolers are currently being taught under trees, in borrowed spaces, family kitchens, & churches. In these isolated communities outside of Mulukuku, parents have already given land, but they lack building materials. Their children, need early attention in education & they want to build schools for them. Teachers also need basic educational supplies for these poor rural children to get a head start in education.

5 preschools in 5 rural communities in Mulukuku, Nicaragua will be built by parents of preschoolers on land they donated. They will have a teacher contracted by the Ministry of Education as well as the consent for a licensed Montessori teacher to give workshops in making & using preschool materials. The schools will be constructed by the parents who have experience in construction so their children can have educational opportunities & increase their mental capacity for learning.
This project will help to raise the educational level of the children and increase their mental capacity for learning. Community organizing skills used to realize the project will strengthen the community for future activities. Empirical teachers will advance in their knowledge and capacity to work with preschoolers. Children will have an adequate, healthier environment for learning. Parents will feel pride in the schools they built & hopefully improve their parenting skills.
