We are glad to announce that the IA3 Institute has been awarded with the seventh edition of the Volkswagen Community Prize.

The project of craft techniques and reuse of materials of the IA3 Institute have competed with 569 other social initiatives. The award will be used to expand the existing assistance provided by the entity.
Among 372 social organization contestants, the IA3 Institute was one of nine entity winners and was awarded for a project called "Vem Ser", which focuses on technical craft skills (production of handmade paper, patchwork, embroidery, sewing and ground covers), and on the work with the reuse of materials. Currently the Institute has two premises, one in a neighborhood called “Feital” and another in a neighborhood called “Castolira”, both in the city of Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo, Brazil.
The prize received from the Volkswagen Foundation, will be used to purchase equipment and supplies to ensure the expansion of the assistance and consequently increase the beneficiaries’ income. "Since we began managing the "Vem Ser” Project, we have been making great efforts in order to improve the technical skills, the quality of the manufactured products and foster entrepreneurship. Being among the winners gives us happiness, satisfaction and encouragement to keep believing that we are on the right track”, says project coordinator, Fabiana Lima.
"The award is the result of the dedication of everyone involved. We thank the technicians Maria Cristina, Maria do Carmo and Marlene Marcondes, and all the participants, who are dedicated to the learning and are fully involved in activities to build a better future for the project and for themselves”, says coordinator Fabiana Lima, who reminds everyone that the making of Christmas Decoration has begun and “will soon be on sale in our online store.
