Dear Supporters,
Thank you for continuing to believe in young people and in the power of early environmental education. Your generosity is helping us move from isolated activities to building a lasting culture of sustainability across schools in Ekiti State.
This past quarter, your support helped us take an important step forward in the Greener Minds Campaign, we established a new Greener Minds Club at Ifaki Grammar School, Ifaki-Ekiti.
Earlier in 2024, during our World Biodiversity Day outreach, we donated 20 tree seedlings to the school. When we returned months later for monitoring, every single seedling had survived. The students had watered and protected them on their own initiative. That moment confirmed something powerful: these young people were ready for more.
So, this quarter, we returned not just to teach, but to build structure.
We conducted a Climate Education and Waste-to-Wealth program and officially inaugurated the Ifaki Grammar School Greener Minds Club with 10 pioneer student members and 2 teacher coordinators. A total of 43 students and 6 teachers participated in the interactive sessions, exploring climate change, desertification, greenhouse gases, and the difference between weather and climate.
The highlight of the day was a hands-on waste-to-wealth practical session where students transformed a used tyre, pieces of fabric, and mirror glass into a decorative mirror frame.
This is how sustainability becomes culture not a one-day event, but a student-led movement.
Present at the event was the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) representatives who expressed their interest as well as support for the club
Impact at a Glance
But beyond the numbers, something deeper happened.
These students are no longer just participants in environmental programs, they are now leaders. They have a structured platform to meet, plan, educate peers, and carry forward eco-friendly practices within their school.
The expansion to Ifaki Grammar School means Greener Minds is growing. What began as a pilot is now becoming a network.
What’s Next?
With your continued support, we plan to:
• Strengthen the newly inaugurated Greener Minds Club with quarterly mentorship
• Support simple monthly eco-activities within the school
• Expand the club model to additional schools in Ekiti State
• Provide monitoring visits and environmental materials
• Organize inter-school Greener Minds engagement sessions
Our goal is clear: build a generation that understands climate issues and acts consistently to address them.
Your Support Creates Real Change
Here’s what your contribution makes possible:
Each donation helps us move one school closer to becoming a hub of environmental leadership.
Because of you, Greener Minds is no longer just a campaign, it is becoming a movement.
Thank you for helping us expand environmental literacy, leadership, and hope across Ekiti State.
With sincere appreciation,
The TGED Foundation Team
