Fathers House orphanage started with a few HIV positive orphans taken care by a support group of PLWHIV. It has become now full grown orphanage that has helped more than 100 children since 2009. Now dwindling funding threatens to leave the orphanage and the life project of Madam Commy unfinished, you can make them safe.
Fathers House Orphanage was created in connection to FABASSO, a support group for people living with HIV. As some members died, they left children, and Madam Commy could not leave them to fend for themselves. With time it became an official orphanage and now it receives also acts as a home for blind children coming from the whole sub-division to study in a Pilot integrated school.
Your donation will provide support for the feeding, clothing and schooling of 29 children aged 0 to 16. We will not provide this directly but by strengthening the orphanage capacity to generate income for itself.
Investing in children and teenagers is always a winning strategy. They grow to become confident adults, able to create opportunities for themselves. The inconsistent situation of the orphanage right now does not allow the older orphans to transition comfortably from living in the orphanage to making a living for themselves, putting them at risk. You can stop all of this and make sure each and every one of the 38 children and teenagers have the chance they deserve.
