Dear friend
When I updated you on the progress of the Zvamaida Primary School project at the end of October, I was saying how I was getting excited that we were about to get final approval by Rotary International.
The good news came in November when Rotary International passed the project and added the grant that we applied for from Rotary Foundation. This meant that hopefully we will have the money to complete the classrooms and library plus the toilets and other school equipment like the classroom furniture and books etc.
Since the approval and grant we had been gearing up in Zimbabwe to start the project in January or February, but Covid has stalled our plans again as the country went into lock down and it remains that way at the moment.
In the meantime, we continue to fundraise where we can in these difficult times, as we know that there is much work to be done after the completion of the Classrooms and Library etc. I think even more than before Covid, hygiene is paramount and so our plans for more toilets and wash basin facilities may need to be expanded more and the new water borehole added as well, which will not only give a greater and better supply of fresh water, but will enable crops to be grown for the school and generate some income.
All in all, and despite delays and Covid, we all remain confident that it will not be long now before we have ‘spades in the ground’ and the foundations for the buildings started.
Very best wishes to everyone and thank you again for your support for Zvamaida Primary School project
Kind regards, and stay healthy and safe
Danny
