The Mawoudit Foundation intends to build 8 classrooms and 16 pit latrine blocks at Deng Maker Primary School in Majak Goi village, South Sudan to provide a conducive environment for learning to kids from humble backgrounds in Majak Goi village. The project will also provide free meals, and solar torches to 500 pupils and train 8 teachers at Deng Maker Primary School. With this project, we will introduce digital library for pupils and teachers by using tablet.
In 2021, the South Sudan literacy report by South Sudan's Ministry of general education and Instruction indicates a 35% literacy rate which makes it one of the lowest literacy rates in countries in the world. And also in a 2018 report by World Bank, macro trends and world population review literacy rate reports indicated 34.52%, this small percentage only 8% of both women and girls are literate USAID in 2008, 2011 and 18% in 2019 by Voice of America (VOA) South Sudan focus.
we would like to build 8 classrooms and pit latrines at Deng Maker primary school in Majak Goi Boma. This rapid response to education infrastructure, will provide a conducive environment for learning and create jobs for the local population in Majak Goi village and South Sudan at large.
1. This project will contribute to increasing the local literacy rate in South Sudan 2. Address the lack of electricity to more than 500 pupils by giving them solar torches 3. Contribute to good hygiene, sanitation and well-being of 500 pupils by constructing 18 latrines
