The National Zakat Agency (Baznas), through its Baznas Disaster Response Team (BTB), has built three bridges that were severed by floods and landslides that struck Ciemas Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.
The three bridges successfully built by the BTB team are located in the Ciemas neighborhood, RT 04, and in the Lewuidadap neighborhood.
“Baznas responded quickly by building three bridges intended to serve as a link for the activities of local residents,” said Saidah Sakwan, Head of Distribution and Utilization at Baznas RI, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Saidah noted that the floods and landslides in the Sukabumi region that occurred a few days ago caused severe damage to infrastructure, including roads and bridges, which isolated several villages.
Therefore, she said, the construction of these bridges aims to facilitate access for disaster-affected communities to resume their daily activities.
“We deployed the BTB team as quickly as possible and have built these three bridges to ensure that the community can resume their activities,” she said.
