This project seeks to establish a tuition centre dedicated to providing quality education to children from Dalit Community in rural Tamil Nadu. The primary aim is to bridge the learning gap these children face due to socio-economic disadvantages, promote academic excellence, and empower them through education. The tuition centre will provide supplementary education, focusing on core subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, and Tamil, while also encouraging extracurricular learning.
The core problem addressed by this project is the lack of access to quality education for children from Dalit community, one of the most marginalized and disadvantaged indigenous communities in Tamil Nadu. Despite government efforts to promote education for all, Irular children continue to face deep-rooted barriers that hinder their academic progress and long-term development.
The Tuition Centre for Dalit Children is designed as a practical, community-based solution to break the cycle of educational disadvantage faced by Dalit community. By addressing the root causes of poor learning outcomes-poverty, lack of academic support, and social exclusion-the project creates sustainable pathways for Dalit children to succeed in school and beyond.
The Tuition Centre for Dalit Children is designed not only as an immediate educational intervention but also as a transformative, long-term investment in the social, economic, and cultural upliftment of the Irular community. Over time, this project is expected to create deep and lasting change - breaking cycles of poverty and marginalization while nurturing a new generation of educated, confident, and empowered individuals.
