By George Srour | BT Founder & Chief Dreamer

Visit our website & Flickr for weekly construction updates. Latest news below!

Temporary existing school in Oyomai#27 - Oyomai
groundbreaking: December 6, 2014
On Tuesday, December 2, community members and parents/families of future students made a public, formal commitment to support the education of their children. In doing so, they promised to volunteer 15,000 hours of their time to help build the school and make contributions to support the school's ongoing success, once it opens. Construction officially started on Saturday!

commitment signing ceremony in Akolodongo
#26 - Akolodongo
groundbreaking: November 20, 2014
Having just gotten started a couple of weeks ago, community volunteers have cleared the land and dug the foundation. Now masons have begun work on the foundation walls. The team will soon start the laborious process of digging the latrines.

construction on Kisaluwoko
#25 - Kisaluwoko
groundbreaking: November 6, 2014
Construction is well underway and sticking to schedule at Kisaluwoko! At present, work on building the school's foundation is nearly finished and they've begun to dig the latrines. Next up: walling!

#24 - Guyaguya
groundbreaking: October 24, 2014
With construction at the foundation level, work is currently on hold in Guyaguya due to the heavy rains. All of the roads to the site have been flooded, making material delivery virtually impossible. At present, the construction team is waiting it out and as soon as things dry up, they'll be back to work!

construction at Angerepo
#23 - Angerepo
groundbreaking: September 25, 2014
In light of the incredibly  heavy rains that have plagued much of this district over the past few months, construction has progressed very slowly. However, the team reports that the foundation of the first classroom block is finally finished and they will begin walling very soon!

construction at Isingo

#22 - Isingo
groundbreaking: September 6, 2014
The team is making record pace at Isingo! The first classroom block is just about finished; the roof is up, windows & doors are installed, and they are plastering the interior walls.  Walls on the second classroom block are nearly to the roof, too!

construction at Kongota
#21 - Kongota
groundbreaking: August 14, 2014
Work has started on the roof of the first classroom block & the masons are nearing the level of the ring beam for the second block of classrooms. Toilets are complete & the grounds of the school are looking better every day (the one benefit of the incredibly heavy rains!).
